Annexations, Street / Alley Closings, and Street Name Changes This Web page tracks all Planning Board cases related to annexations, street / alley closings, and street name changes from the pre-Planning Board stage to the post-City Council stage. Its purpose is to assist City personnel in planning for future growth and changes in the city.
The Planning Board meets on the third Wednesday of every month, during which members determine recommendations to City Council for each reviewed case. City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The agenda for the next Planning Board meeting is posted monthly.
Annexation cases that are approved by City Council become effective 60 days after the end of the month in which they went to Council, ie if an annexation is approved on April 15, its effective date is June 30. Street / alley closings and street name changes are effective the same day they are approved by Council. After items have become effective, they are placed on an archive Web page for historical reference. The agenda for the next City Council meeting can be found on the City Government / City Council Web page.
