Board of Adjustment
The Greensboro Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body responsible for hearing and deciding appeals, variance requests, special exceptions, and interpretations of the zoning regulations. In doing this, the Board is charged with upholding the purpose and intent of the development ordinance when there are practical difficulties or unnecessary hardships that result from carrying out the strict letter of the law.

The Board of Adjustment is composed of seven citizen members appointed by City Council for three year terms. Regular meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 2 pm in the Council Chamber of the Melvin Municipal Office Building.

Rawls Howard and Loray Averett are the staff contacts for the Board of Adjustment and can be reached by telephone at (336) 373-2144.
