Greensboro Neighborhood Directory
The City of Greensboro Planning Department has identified several neighborhood areas. This information is a result of the need for updated and revised neighborhood data for use by the Greensboro Neighborhood Information Center, the Greensboro Neighborhood Congress and the Planning Department. It will be utilized for future phases of the City Comprehensive Plan and other City departments. Public or private organizations may benefit from this information, as well. Neighborhood contacts are provided for reference only and may not reflect current address data. Contact the Planning Department at (336) 373-2144 for a list of contacts for each neighborhood. You may also view neighborhoods and other City features on the Greensboro Spatial Viewer Interactive Map.
Neighborhood areas are compiled using various residential categories that include redevelopment areas, historic districts, public housing communities, subdivisions, and census tracts. Geographic elements, including major roads, railroads, streams, waterways, and various other natural features were used to create boundaries.
Residents in any given area should note that the boundaries illustrated as neighborhoods by the Planning Department might not reflect their perceived idea of what their neighborhoods are. Furthermore, several neighborhoods reflected on the map were established by the Greensboro Neighborhood Congress. None of the boundaries have been officially adopted by the Greensboro City Council. Revised boundaries will be based on input from neighborhood residents. Contact Amy Nelson or Sheila Carmon at (336) 373-2144 regarding any changes or for a copy of the Neighborhood Map.
