Media Relations
The Watch Operations Center - Media Only Line - 336-574-3573 - is the primary public and media information source for routine and operational occurrences. The Watch Operations Center:

• Gathers investigative reports, crash reports, and information about newsworthy incidents for dissemination to the media.
• Assists news personnel in covering routine news stories.
• Releases, on a daily basis, to any news media representative, newsworthy information that is a matter of public record.

Field supervisors, the Watch Commander, or assigned investigators on the scene of major incidents, such as homicides, accidents involving serious injuries, barricaded suspects, or crimes-in-progress situations, may respond to immediate questions from the media. However, informational releases on major crimes are typically done through the Criminal Investigations Division at 336-373-2255.
