Southern Division
Functions
Patrol Squads The 61 Patrol Officers in the Southern Division primarily respond to calls for service from citizens. Those calls may result in criminal investigations, citations, arrests or merely the exchange of information. Officers also remain alert for traffic violations or criminal offenses that occur in their presence and are responsible for appropriately enforcing the law in those instances.
Community Resource Team CRT members are responsible for solving long-term problems, criminal or non-criminal, that threaten deterioration in the quality of life for our citizens, merchants and visitors. The CRT members complement the services rendered by patrol and augment the Investigative Squad. These officers are specialists in crime prevention techniques. To find information about organizing a neighborhood watch program or to schedule a safety survey of your business or residence, contact Sergeant Pell.
Administrative Staff Non-sworn personnel support police functions by assisting in investigations, processing crime data and generating statistics that help identify trends in criminal activity.
