Peace Officers' Memorial Week

Former President John F. Kennedy designated May 15 as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day and the week of May 10-17 as National Police Week. In commemoration, the United States flag is to be displayed at half-staff on all government buildings on May 15.

Peace Officers' Memorial Week was designed to honor the dedicated men and women of law enforcement who lost their lives in the line of duty. The Greensboro Police Department honors its 10 fallen heroes with a variety of community events to recognize those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and to celebrate the accomplishments of our residents who have gone beyond the call of duty.

The events during Peace Officers’ Memorial Week are open to the public and everyone is encouraged to participate.
