Live Meetings
Channel 13 produces live meetings from the Greensboro City Council Chamber. The Chamber is equipped with four remote control cameras and a presentation system displaying data, photos and video on both a 6-by-8 foot screen for those attending the meeting, and 17-inch monitors for board members seated at the dais (Council desk.) The presentation system can display photgraphic slides, flat art, computer graphics, VHS, SVHS and DVD video. These facilities in the Council Chamber are linked via fiber optics to a television production control room equipped with a Grass Valley Switcher, Abekas Deko 500 character generator and support equipment.
Field Production
Channel 13 also produces programs in the field, using three Sony Beta SP cameras, two Avid Adrenaline non-linear editors, and one Sony linear editing system. Channel 13 has produced meetings and forums live to tape in the field using portable production equipment configured to handle up to three cameras and multiple audio channels. Character generator information and music for these live-to-tape programs is added in the field providing a ready to air show at the end of the event.
Bulletin Board
Channel 13's Bulletin Board is produced with an Inscriber InfoCaster and digital music is provided courtesy of Time Warner Cable and Music Choice. Every Wednesday, the music channel is changed to provide viewers with jazz, classic country, soft rock, and many other styles. Messages on the Bulletin Board play on a continuous loop whenever live or taped programs are not on the air.
