Vision Statement

To make Greensboro a model city where diversity is appreciated and all residents have an equal opportunity to realize their highest potential based on their skills and ability regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, or disability.

Mission Statement

The Human Relations Department promotes mutual understanding and fair treatment among all residents of Greensboro in conjunction with the Human Relations Commission and the Commission on the Status of Women. Through mediation, the Department seeks the voluntary resolution of discrimination complaints or unfair treatment in employment, housing and public accommodations because of an individual's race, color, gender, religion, national origin, familial status, or disability.
