Poster Contest

Crayon ImageThe City of Greensboro's Water Resources Department and NC Cooperative Extension Service in Guilford County sponsor poster contests for Guilford County students in grades 1-4. Contests are held in two categories: Water Conservation and Water Quality.

The events conclude in early spring, with prizes being awarded to winners during the month of May. The award ceremony is usually held at a Greensboro City Council Meeting or a Guilford County Commissioners Meeting.

In 2010, the Water Conservation theme was "Every Drop Counts." First and second graders in Guilford County were  eligible to enter the contest. First, second, and third place winners were chosen from classroom winners at each school. Winners also became eligible for a state poster contest.

In 2010, the Water Quality theme was "Protecting Water Quality: It's Everyone's Responsibility." Third and fourth graders in Guilford County were eligible to enter the contest. First, second and third place winners were chosen from classroom winners at each school.
