Hillsdale Park Stream Restoration
The Hillsdale Park Stream Restoration project used natural stream design to restore almost 6,000 linear feet of stream for the North Carolina Ecosystem Enhancement Program. The stream had eroded banks and was an eyesore for area residents. The project involved designing a new stream channel, constructing in-stream structures, and planting new vegetation to stabilize the stream banks. The construction was completed in 2003 and will be monitored for five years to ensure the success of the restoration effort.
