Waste Disposal
The City of Greensboro operates a solid waste transfer station for the disposal of residential and commercial trash. Other waste, such as yard waste and construction debris, are disposed of at the White Street Landfill. A recycling drop-off center is also located at the landfill.

Recyclables are taken to the FCR material reclamation facility located on Patton Avenue in Greensboro. FCR operates the facility under contract with the City. The recycling facility is available for use by private haulers, but the CIty accounts for about 75 percent of the recyclable materials processed at FCR.

City and Guilford County residents can take their household hazardous waste and electronic equipment to the Waste Collection Center located at 2750 Patterson Steet. Operating hours are: Wednesday - Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday 8 am to 2 pm. For more information, call (336) 373-2196.
