Enterprise Resource Planning
The Enterprise Resource Planning Department (ERP) maintains Enterprise wide administrative software systems for Accounting, financial reporting, Treasury Management, Procurement, Human Resources, and Payroll. The department also provides analyst services for streamlining of information requests and reporting across the organization.
Our mission statement is to provide quality information efficiently.
The department was established in 2000 when the City moved from mainframe applications to the UNIX platform. This centralized department works with power users from the functional departments as well as system administrators from the MIS department to maintain efficient software solutions.
We test new releases, enhancements, and patches, implement and establish standards for interfaces, as well as deliver tools to make information access easier. Enterprise solutions include the Greensboro e-Procurement System, Employee Self Service, Process flows, Business Intelligence, Crystal Reporting, and integrated Imaging.
Our ERP solution provider is Lawson Software, which runs on an IBM AIX platform against an Oracle Database. These software applications manage information that is critical to the City’s ability to accomplish its mission.
