Celebrate Earth Day by collecting plastic bottles for a big cash prize.

Plastic Bottle Blitz

Bottle BlitzJoin our sixth annual Plastic Bottle Blitz competition and you could win a cash prize up to $1,000.

Collect clean and dry plastic bottles and jugs with your friends, family, school, scouts, or yourself, and bring them to be weighed at the Jefferson Elementary School parking lot, 1400 New Garden Rd., between 1-3 pm on April 14.

Winners will be announced at 5 pm at the Earth Day Celebration at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Library, 1420 Price Park Dr. This contest is sponsored by Repreve and ReCommunity.

Contest Rules

  1. Register here.
  2. Participants or organizations must reside in Guilford County.
  3. Plastic bottles/jugs must be clean, empty, dry plastic bottles and placed into clear plastic bags. Label the plastic bags with the participant/organization name and phone number in black permanent marker.
  4. A minimum of 15 pounds is required to be eligible for cash prizes. 
  5. Do not include any plastic bottles that were used to contain motor oil, pesticides or other harmful substances. 
  6. Excessive non-bottle or jug items may cause an entry to be rejected.
  7. Prizes for groups: $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $350 for third place. Grand prize for individuals is $300.
