Participation and Commitment

There are two levels of involvement in the Adopt-a-Street Program: the Senior and Junior Partner participation levels. The requirements for each level of involvement are listed below.

“The Senior Partner” (Ideal for businesses, civic groups, churches, etc.)

    Requirements:

  • Adopt a minimum of a one-mile section of City thoroughfare (Priority 1) street.
  • Collect litter along your adopted section at least four times a year.

*The City of Greensboro will install two signs recognizing your Senior Partner group.* 


The Junior Partner”
(Ideal for neighborhood associations, families, etc.) 

    Requirements:

  • Adopt a minimum one-mile section of any city street or neighborhood
  • Collect litter along your adopted section at least four times a year.


The Partner’s Commitment:

  • Adopt one mile of street
  • Clean a minimum of four times a year
  • Obey all safety rules for Adopt-a-Street program

 
The City of Greensboro's Commitment:

  • Provide trash bags, gloves and safety vests
  • Collect and dispose of trash bags after collection
  • Send quarterly update bulletins
