Recycle Guys proved an effective recycling program for youth, but the 20-something crowd was being missed. With lots of brainpower and creativity, the funky, edgy, hip, urban concepts of RE3 were born!

RE3, North Carolina’s new recycling campaign, is a social marketing based promotion designed to increase participation in recycling. Recycling coordinators across the state use RE3 materials in their programs, presentations, and interaction with the public to reinforce the RE3 concepts of recycling, reducing and reusing, and to promote positive behavior change. Coupled with a statewide media campaign, including television ads and cinema ads, RE3 reaches across the state to encourage people to recycle – and not just at home. This campaign helps to develop recycling behaviors away from home – at the office, at a party, at a ballgame, or a park.
