Supplier Registration Requirements

System Requirements

  • GePs is now supported on Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, Firefox 3.2, Chrome 3.0, and Safari 4.0 

Registration Requirements

  • Legal business name registered with IRS
  • Tax ID number and do not include dashes
  • Mailing and remit to addresses
  • Contact information
  • Your email address (if you don't have one, several services offer free accounts)
  • Commodity Codes (codes describing your products and services)

The City requires that you provide a taxpayer identification number to register in the supplier database. Your taxpayer ID is the number you use when filing tax returns under the name of your business. It may be either an employee identification number (EIN) issued by the IRS or your Social Security number. If you do not wish to provide your SSN, you may get an EIN from the IRS. Commodity Codes

The City uses the NIGP (National Institute of Governmental Purchasing) Commodity Codes Index to identify the products and services provided by its vendors. Codes that begin with 0 to 8 represent goods and commodities; codes beginning with a 9 represent services.
