Boards and Commissions
Resident boards and commissions play a vital role in the work of the Department of Housing and Community Development. These boards set policy, develop plans and budgets, and ensure accountability in implementation of programs and services.
The City of Greensboro has more than 28 boards and commissions and membership is administered through the City Clerk. Anyone interested in becoming a member of one of Greensboro’s Boards or Commissions should send a resume and City of Greensboro Board / Commission interest form to:

Community Resource Board (CRB) The Community Resource Board (CRB) proposes for City Council’s consideration plans and financing options for preserving neighborhoods, enhancing downtown, creating jobs, and expanding the supply of safe affordable housing.
Greensboro Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) The HPC administers the Historic District Program Manual and Design Guidelines for exterior changes to properties within Greensboro's three historic districts. The Commission also acts as the City's lead advocate and advisory group for historic preservation related projects.
Greensboro Housing and Development Partnership (GHDP) The Partnership is a joint endeavor of the City of Greensboro and the Greensboro Housing Authority. Its purpose is to provide a vehicle by which the City and / or the Housing Authority can accomplish specific affordable housing program activities. The Partnership is under the direction of a 10-member Board of Directors.
Redevelopment Commission of Greensboro (RCG) The Redevelopment Commission of Greensboro was incorporated on October 23,1951 pursuant to a resolution approved by the City Council eight days earlier authorizing formation of a Commission to conduct studies, formulate plans, and implement redevelopment projects for blighted areas within the city. The Commission is comprised of five members appointed by City Council and is authorized to acquire land, redevelop (or contract for the redevelopment of) an area, and sell the redeveloped area when the project is complete.
