The Planning Process
Participation of the general public and also public organizations is extremely important to HUD and to the development of a consolidated plan. To maximize citizen participation, employees of Greensboro HCD sponsored a series of local community meetings to discuss the planning process and to solicit input using a Primary Needs Assessment Survey. The public hearings were advertised in local newspapers at least 14 days in advance. The following meetings were held in Greensboro:

• September 15, 2004, Community Resource Board meeting, City Hall
• October 21, 2004, Kathleen Clay Edwards Branch Library
• October 24, 2004, Glenwood Branch Library
• October 26, 2004, Windsor Community Center
• December 2-3, 2004, Strategic Planning Workshops, Grace United Methodist Church (see photo below)
