Affordable Housing Development

Development Opportunities through Requests for Proposals

The City of Greensboro typically awards funding for the development of affordable housing through a Request for Proposals (RFP) process. The Affordable Housing Development RFP is typically available in September.

Development Opportunities through the Redevelopment Commission

The Redevelopment Commission of the City of Greensboro (RCG) conducts studies, develops plans, and carries out redevelopment projects for blighted areas in the City. Redevelopment projects can and usually do provide a variety of development opportunities for single family homes and multifamily housing, as well as occasionally providing opportunities to develop parks, community buildings, and neighborhood commercial/retail spaces.

Requests for Proposals (RFP) or for Qualifications (RFQ) are issued on an as-needed basis. Currently, development opportunities exist in the Ole Asheboro and the Willow Oaks redevelopment areas.
