Emergency Repair Program

The Emergency Repair Program is set up to remove conditions that pose an imminent threat to the health or safety of those who live in substandard housing. This program is not intended to rehabilitate houses to the City's Minimum Housing Code. The Emergency Repair Program provides both forgivable loans and low-interest deferred loans that are dependent on household income. **This program is only available in conjunction with the Lead Safe Housing Program.**

Eligibility
To receive assistance under this program, you must meet each of the following requirements:

  1. You are an owner-occupant of a one-family residential structure within the city limits of Greensboro.
  2. Your property has been inspected by the lead grant program staff or their designated representative and is classified as having conditions that pose an imminent threat to health and/or safety.

For the duration of the City's participation in the Lead Safe Housing Program, the following requirements must be met:

is determined to have lead paint hazards.
