Arlington Park

In the 1920s and 1930s, the Arlington Park neighborhood was a highly desirable address. Today, the City of Greensboro, the Greensboro Housing Development Partnership Inc. (GHDP), and the Arlington Park Neighborhood neighborhood drawing displayAssociation are working to make it a special place again. The pinnacle of the neighborhood's revitalization is the creation of "The Village" at Arlington Park, a residential development community that includes a mixture of single-family homes and twin homes, as well as a 4.4-acre public open space with a paved pedestrian trail.

HCD provided the primary financing for this project using Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The grand opening ceremony of “The Village” at Arlington Park included a children’s art contest. In addition, Martin Luther King Drive, a main thoroughfare through the neighborhood, underwent streetscape improvements that focused on adding decorative street lights, calming traffic, and creating a more pedestrian friendly atmosphere.
