Applications Now Being Accepted for Two Housing Boards
GREENSBORO, NC -- (September 14, 2009) -- Applications are now being accepted for membership on the Greensboro Historic Preservation Commission and the Design Review Committee. Interested applicants should fill out an interest form found on this Web page and mail it along with a resume or bio to the City Clerk's Office, PO Box 3136, Greensboro, NC 27402-3136.
The Historic Preservation Commission is a nine-member board appointed by City Council to administer the City's Historic District Program and perform other preservation functions. Applicants should have demonstrated special interest, experience or education in architecture, archaeology, history, architectural history, landscape architecture, restoration, planning or related fields. The commission meets at 4 pm on the last Wednesday of every month. Learn more on this Web page.
The Design Review Committee is a standing sub-committee that provides technical advise to residents of the historic districts about restoration and home improvement projects. Members meet at 4 pm on the first Thursday of each month.
