RFPs Sought for Permanent Supportive Housing
GREENSBORO, NC -- (March 23, 2010) -- The City of Greensboro is offering a Request for Proposals for the acquisition and rehabilitation of foreclosed or abandoned homes to be used as Permanent Supportive Housing. Program details are contained in the application package linked below.
There is currently no official federal Housing and Urban Development definition for permanent supportive housing. Please note the following guidelines for “Permanent Supportive Housing” prior to making an application.
Permanent Housing means that:
- there are no mandated end-dates for a tenant to leave the program or unit
- the tenant has an executed lease to an identified complete unit which does not contain prohibited lease terms
- the lease does not include a requirement to access supportive services in order to maintain tenancy
- the owner or manager must follow fair housing and affirmative marketing requirements
- tenancy in assisted units may not be limited to a particular service agency’s clients
- group homes or transitional housing are not eligible forms of permanent housing.
Permanent Supportive Housing includes a planned supportive services element for a defined population, generally homeless or disabled.
The funding source included in this Request for Proposals does not pay for supportive services, nor does it pay for rental voucher assistance.
