Attend the monthly interactive workshops or trainings offered through the GYC Institute to become a better you!

Upcoming Workshops all are held 5:30-6:30pm at the Greensboro Cultural Center. T/February 20 Constructive Criticism. T/March 20 Cultural Sensitivity. T/April 24 Decision Making.


Workshops are free and open to all high school and teen home school students in Guilford County. GYC members are required to attend at least four workshops each year and receive double hours for their attendance. Snacks are provided!

Workshops Details

Constructive Criticism: February 20- Some conversations are challenging or awkward. This training offer tips and tricks on successfully handling these conversation.

Cultural Sensitivity: March 20- This workshop examines cultures different from your own. Focusing on values and priorities of the cultures. Come ready to taste foods from different cultures as well. Yum!

Decision Making: April 24- Making decisions whether large or small can be tough. By the end of this session you will have a tool kit to aid you in being more confident in your choices.

Not only can you receive service learning hours for attending, you also receive awards at the GYC end of year reception.

  • Rising Star- attend 2-4 workshops
    • Receive a certificate of participation
  • Emerging Leader-attend 5-6 workshops
    • Receive a silver medal and certificate of participation
  • Achiever- attend 7-8 workshops
    • Receive a gold medal and certificate of participation
