Features and Amenities:
Lake Brandt is an 816-acre municipal reservoir. The lake was originally built in 1925 and raised to its present level in 1958. Lake Brandt is named in honor of Leon Brandt, who served as Mayor of Greensboro from 1907-1908. The lake is located at 5945 Lake Brandt Rd.

Lake Brandt features fishing, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), kayaking and canoeing. Fishing is most successful for largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish, but other species are often caught.

Rowboats, kayaks, SUPs, and canoes are available to the public on a rental basis. View activity and rental fees chart. Three launch ramps are also available to launch private boats. View more events, classes and programs.

* Lake Brandt is always closed on Tuesdays and is open at 8 am on Sundays year round. All city lakes will maintain normal operating hours during all holidays with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day; the lakes will be closed those days.
