The City of Greensboro provides a variety of recreational activities for the public at our three water supply reservoirs. Lake Brandt, Lake Higgins and Lake Townsend offer many traditional outdoor activities. For anglers, the lakes are stocked with largemouth bass, Bodie bass (hybrid), crappie, catfish and sunfish. Rowboats are available on a rental basis for year-round enjoyment. Kayaks, canoes and sailboats can be rented seasonally. We offer annual permits, as well as fishing and hunting licenses at each lake. Check out our Events and Programs Calendar to see what's happening around the lakes.
For more information on the fees and other prices associated with the features of the lakes, please visit our Activity Fee Chart.
