Dance Project Inc. is a nonprofit organization that sponsors a dance school, statewide festival, and a professional company. It is a vital community resource fueled by a passion for excellence in dance.
Dance Project: the School at City Arts provides comprehensive training for people of all ages and skill levels. It focuses on teaching the whole dancer in a non-competitive environment where dancing is fun and rewarding. Students learn an awareness of how the body works and how movement can be used expressively. Through the School at City Arts, Dance Project Inc. is able to build and strengthen a connection to the Greensboro community with classes, workshops, and informal performances.
The North Carolina Dance Festival brings dance to audiences of all kinds throughout the state and plays a leadership role both statewide and nationally. Outreach classes are offered in every community the festival visits.
And, the Jan Van Dyke Dance Group sets the standard in the area for professionalism in performance.
The aim of Dance Project Inc. is to expand the field of dance through a broad range of artistic and educational programs by training dancers, building audiences, and nurturing leadership for the future.
