Fee Schedule for Applications Processed by the Planning Department
(Updated for FY 2017-18 as of July 1, 2017)

These are the current fees for applications processed by the Planning Department, as adopted by the City Council for the current budget year. If you have a question about the applicable fee, please call us at 336-373-2144. Please make checks payable to the "City of Greensboro."

Board of Adjustment Consideration

Application for Variance, Special Exception or Interpretation: $400
Rehearing Request: $400

Planning Board Consideration

Application for Easement Release: $200
Application for Street Closing Request: $345
Application for Street Name Change: $300
Application for LDO Text Amendment: $270
Application for Comprehensive Plan Amendment: $195

Zoning Commission Consideration

Application for Rezoning or Special Use Permit, request containing less than one acre: $1,140
Application for Rezoning or Special Use Permit, request containing one to 4.9 acres: $1,335
Application for Rezoning or Special Use Permit, request containing five or more acres: $1,525
Request to establish original zoning (i.e. initial zoning when annexed): No fee
Application to establish an Overlay District: $765

Sign Permit

Signs, Billboards: $105 per sign
Banners (inside Historic District / outside CBD): $30 per sign
Banner (outside Historic District / outside CBD): $10 per sign ($100 Maximum)
Banners (inside CBD): No fee

Subdivision and Site Plan Review

Plat Review / Exempt: $155
Plat Review / Final: $175
Deed Review / Exempt: $65
Site Plan / Non-Residential: $1,220 plus $20 per 1,000 sf
Site Plan / Multi-family (including townhome and condo) plan: $1,220 plus $25 per unit
Preliminary Subdivision Plan: $790 plus $40 per lot
Minor Revisions to Approved Site Plan or Preliminary Subdivision Plan: $260, plus $20 per 1,000 sf, $25 per unit, or $40 per lot, applied to any increase
Subdivision Owners Association Declaration Review: $90
Watershed Plan: No fee
Landscape Plan: $30 if submitted separately from site plan
Tree / Land Disturbance Permit: $30
Tree Conservation / Landscape Inspection or Re-Inspection: $65 per inspection

Zoning Letters

Family Care Home or Group Care Facility Reservation Letter: $60 per site
Zoning Verification Letter (including those for DMV or NCDER reviews): $35
Zoning Compliance Letter: $95
