Chief Wayne Scott joined the Greensboro Police Department August 1991 as a member of 68th PBIC. He previously served as Commander of the Investigations Bureau and Commanding Officer of the Police Training Division. His career includes tours of duty in Patrol, Community Resources, Crash Reconstruction, Traffic Safety, Police Training, and as commander of the Patrol Bureau.
Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from John Wesley College in High Point and a master’s degree in business management from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. He is a 2008 graduate of the Administrative Officer Management Program (AOMP) at NC State University, a 2012 graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) at Boston University and has received his advance law enforcement certificate.
