The City is currently designing the widening of Horse Pen Creek Road from New Garden Road (SR 2179) to Battleground Avenue (US 220). The roadway will be widened from two lanes to four lanes with curb and gutter, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and a raised landscaped median. The city conducted workshops in August 2013 to provide information, answer questions and accept written comments regarding this project.
GDOT has completed a study in 2009 to determine the course of public improvements for Horse Pen Creek Road, between Battleground Avenue and New Garden Road. The project was approved as part of the November 2008 Transportation Bond referendum.
