Bike Month 2017 Calendar final

When the calendar reaches May, it's time to dust off your saddle and enjoy riding on two wheels. May is Bike Month in the Greensboro area and there are several special events taking place this year. The full calendar of events can be viewed by clicking on the image to the right.

Remaining Events

Celebrating New Bikeways Ride
May 19, 4-6 pm

A bicycle ride loop that celebrates new bicycle facilities designed and built through successful collaboration between the City of Greensboro, community groups, and bicycle advocates. The ride leaves from and returns to Deep Roots Market, 600 N. Eugene St.

Please note: the Bicycling in Greensboro Repair-a-thon has been canceled.

For all events with bicycle rides, helmets are strongly encouraged, lights recommended, and participants must bring their own bicycle.

What is Bike Month?

Since 1956, the League of American Bicyclists has designated May as National Bike Month. The event is an opportunity to promote the benefits of biking in all its forms, whether for commuting to work and school, running errands, or for pleasure and recreation. Learn more about National Bike Month.

Resolutions

The Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and has passed a resolution declaring May as Bike Month. The Greensboro City Council is expected to pass a similar resolution on May 2. The resolutions are available below:
