2035 Long Range Transportation Plan
The MPO has updated its 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the Greensboro Urban Area. The LRTP documents future transportation project needs and priorities for roadways, public transit, and bicyclists and pedestrians. For any significant project to be selected in the Transportation Improvement Program, it must first be listed in the LRTP.
The Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is a federally required long-term planing document listing the transportation improvements and policies to be implemented in the MPO area. The LRTP is updated at least every four years and must cover at least the next twenty years into the future.
The MPO Area Collector Street and Thoroughfare plans are primarily used for land use planning and development review purposes. They cover roadway improvements listed in LRTP, as well as additional future improvement needs outside the scope of the LRTP.
