apply button

Step Two
Await a BetterBuildings approval letter.

Step Three
Your designated Home Energy Response Officer (HERO) contacts you for an appointment to begin taking you through the energy upgrade process. In exchange for your time, you will receive a free Energy Saver Power Pack (estimated retail value of $100).

Step Four
Select a pre-approved and pre-screened BetterBuildings assessor/contractor for an energy assessment. As of October 1, assessments cost you only $50.

Step Five
An energy assessment is performed on your home to identify energy savings opportunities. On average, your home energy assessment takes anywhere from 90 minutes to two hours.

Step Six
The contractor shares with you the results of your energy assessment and provides a proposed scope of work and summary report with recommendations for energy upgrades designed to provide you an energy savings of at least 15 percent.

Step Seven
Upon implementing the recommendations, you can receive up to $3,000 in energy saving rebates. Low interest rate loans are available if you are interested in financing the recommended energy upgrades.

Final Step
Upon receipt of proof of payment to contractors for the recommended upgrades, you will be issued a rebate of as much as $3,000.
