Shoppers will see Greensboro Police Department officers and representatives from many City departments outside their favorite shopping centers next month as as part of Operation Yuletide's 'Fill the Cruiser' events. And those City representatives will also give shoppers 'Gifts of Safety' such as literature, publications, and fun items designed to raise awareness about multiple safety topics.

Operation Yuletide hopes to provide a full holiday meal and gifts of new clothing, toys, and household items for 100 local families. Police are relying on the generosity of the public to donate gifts at the Fill the Cruiser events below.

One 'Gift of Safety' from the City to residents is a new SafetyFirst Web page located at www.greensboro-nc.gov/SafetyFirst, which links to important public safety information, provided by City programs, services and facilities. Topics include helpful tips on home, pedestrian and bicycle safety, fire safety, Internet safety, safety on the water and in neighborhood parks, emergency preparedness and much more.
