Murphy Express on 16th Street Robbed on April 19

At 4:58 am April 19, Greensboro Police responded to the Murphy Express at 2107 16th St., reference to a robbery of business. An armed suspect entered the business brandishing a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the business in a dark colored SUV westbound towards 16th Street.

A few minutes earlier, at 4:56 am, a suspect with a similar description attempted to rob the McDonald’s at 2001 E. Cone Blvd. Police are currently working to see if there are connections, if any.

The suspect is described as a young black male, 17-18 years old, light-skinned, 6’ tall, with a short afro.  He was last seen wearing a black sweatsuit with white stripes, possibly Adidas, and black shoes.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing. The names and addresses of the employees are being withheld.
