International Advisory Committee Hosts Immigration Lunch and Learn August 16

The City's International Advisory Committee (IAC) is hosting a free lunch and learn to address the immigrant community’s concerns about detention and deportation at 12 noon, Wednesday, August 16, at the Greensboro Public Library, 219 N. Church St.

This informative discussion will be moderated by IAC Chair Franca Jalloh and features Jeremy McKinney with McKinney Immigration Law, Julie Peeples with Congregational United Church of Christ, Capt. Nathaniel Davis with the Greensboro Police Department, mental health professional Dr. Zumo Kollie and local advocate Laura Garduño-Garcia. The event will also include stories from immigrants directly impacted by deportation. 

This program is free and open to the public. Lunch is included. Registration is available online.

Established by Greensboro City Council as an advisory committee to the Human Relations Commission, the IAC strives to create a more inclusive Greensboro for members of the international community.
