Three Guilford Metro 911 Employees Receive State Recognition
Three Guilford Metro 911 employees received prestigious awards at the annual Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials/National Emergency Number Association (APCO/NENA) North Carolina State Conference in Cherokee on October 4.
Melanie Neal, director of GM 911, received the state Director of the Year Award. Neal, a member of GM 911 since 1999, serves on the Funding Committee for the NC State 911 Board, helping to ensure fair and equal treatment of centers across the state. She is also the 1st Vice President of NC APCO.
The state Telecommunicator of the Year Award went to Greg Cobb, who has been with GM 911 since 2004. Cobb is a certified training officer and a master emergency communications specialist.
Andrew Harvey received the state Radio Frequency Technician of the Year Award. Harvey works with the operations division to create radio templates that best suit the communication needs of GM 911. He joined GM 911 member in 2010 and has been the supervisor of the technical services division since 2014.
