Meet GYC's 2017-18 Executive Board
Darien Kenner, GYC Chair
|Darien Kenner is a junior at Grimsley High School and serving as the 2017-18 GYC chair. His responsibilities include supervising the executive board, overseeing all GYC projects, and serving as office manager. He is currently president of the Service Learning Ambassadors at Grimsley and is heavily involved in DECA. His hobbies include basketball, soccer, spending time with friends, helping others, and most importantly, eating. He previously served as GYC's internal affairs director.
J'Neice Starkey, Internal Affairs Director
|J'Neice Starkey is a sophomore at the Middle College at GTCC and is serving as the 2017-18 internal affairs director. As director, she assumes the duties of chair in his absence, coordinates all council mailings, communications, and reminders to members, and plans spirit events and the annual Recognition and Installation Night. She is also involved in Mount Zion Baptist Church's Youth Blaze and serves as a youth leader in her church. Some of J'Neice's hobbies include writing and shopping.
Tytianna "Ty" Horn, Records Director
|Ty Horn is a junior at the Middle College at Bennett and is serving as this year's records director. Her job is to attend all executive board and full council meetings and record minutes, issue incentives, and keep track of all GYC members' volunteer hours. She volunteers frequently at the Greensboro Science Center, as well as with the Handy Capable Network. Her hobbies are writing, playing the drums and guitar, reading, and watching Netflix.
Sierra Meighan, Training Director
|Sierra Meighan is a sophomore at Southwest High School and is this year's training director. She is responsible for coordinating workshops of the GYC Institute. She is a member of Southwest's Spanish and Harry Potter clubs, as well as a member of her church's Kids Ministry. Her hobbies include reading and playing video games.
