Booked for Lunch Club
The club will not meet in November and December. Meetings will resume on January 12 to discuss the book, "A Street Cat Named Bob" by James Bowen. The club will continue to meet monthly on the second Friday at 12 noon through June at Smith Senior Center. Members are invited to bring their lunch to enjoy while engaging in lively discussion. The club is free and open to anyone 55 years and better.
Citywide Seniors Bowling League
This league bowls from August to May at Triad Lanes, 21 Oak Branch Dr. Registration for the 2017-18 season is now closed. An annual league membership fee is required, as well as a weekly playing fee. For more information or to register, call 336-272-9003 or Triad Lanes at 336-292-0181.
Community Garden Club
This green-thumb group maintains a community garden at Smith Senior Center. The club plants, sows, weeds, waters and harvests vegetables throughout the growing season, and then donates the bounty to area food banks. The club also plants seasonal flowers in the natural areas around the center and works to beautify the surrounding property. For more information, call 336-373-7564.
Greensboro Senior Artists Guild
The Greensboro Senior Artists Guild is a club tailored for seasoned artists willing to share their creative wisdom with the Greensboro community. The guild's objective is to encourage creative self-expression and skill sharing in a mutually supportive environment to further artistic development among its members. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 1:30 pm at Smith Senior Center. An annual membership fee is required. For more information, call 336-209-8947.
Greensboro Social Dance Club
This ballroom dancing club hosts a dance at 7 pm on the second Saturday of each month at Lewis Recreation Center, 3110 Forest Lawn Dr. For more information, call 336-373-3330 or 336-643-6088.
Honey Bee Helpers
This community service group is a chapter of the Busy Bee Crafters of Greensboro, Inc. The group crochets, knits, and sews items for the clients/patients of Beacon Place, Hospice, Kids Path, and Women’s Hospital of Greensboro. The group meets at 10 am each Monday at Smith Senior Center. Beginner and experienced crafters are welcome. For more information, call 336-373-7564.
This community service group makes and donates quilts to residents of local nursing homes and newborns at Women's Hospital of Greensboro. The group meets at 1 pm each Wednesday at Smith Senior Center. Participants are invited to bring their own sewing machines or sew by hand. For more information, call 336-373-7564.
Seniors Hiking Club
The Hiking Club hikes each Wednesday from September to June. Hiking locations are chosen throughout Greensboro and the surrounding areas. New and returning members must qualify for membership each year. An annual membership fee is due at qualifying. For more information, call 336-373-7566.
Singing Senior Ambassadors
This choral group sings and entertains throughout the community and performs two public concerts in May and December. New members are welcome and auditions are not required. Rehearsals are held weekly from September to May.
