Serving Smith Homes in Police Division 2, Zone 230
Officer S.W. Cox
With GPD since 2000, Officer Cox’s main focus as a PNRC officer is to deliver traditional police patrol services to the residents of GHA through high-visibility foot and bike patrol.
"I love the community aspect of policing," Cox says, explaining that it gives an officer the opportunity to get to know the members of a community and build a long-lasting relationship with them.
"The relationship that we develop not only helps prevent crime, but it also makes us a better community as a whole," he says. His word of advice to residents is to get involved in every aspect of the community.
Officer L.S. Garrison
Officer Garrison has been a Greensboro police officer since 2002. She enjoys being a part of the Smith Homes community and interacting with the children there, and hopes to be a role model for them.
Garrison enjoys helping people in need and she says that gives her a sense of fulfillment. She also enjoys talking to the residents and listening to all their different stories.
“Everyone has a story and we all need someone to listen to our story every now and then," she says. "The message I would like to send to my community is to love yourself and know your worth.”
