Tom and T. Cooper James Government Improvement Awards
The Tom and T. Cooper James Government Improvement Awards recognize City of Greensboro employees who have devised innovative and impactful solutions that improved City’s services or productivity. The awards are sponsored by local commercial real estate developers.
Winning projects will be awarded up to $2,500 in two categories:
- Impact – had the greatest or most significant influence on the City organization or the greater Greensboro community
- Innovation – exhibited the most creative approach to providing or improving a service or addressing a City or community problem.
Productivity improvements include those that provided the same level of service at a lower cost, provided a higher level of service at the same cost, avoided future costs, or improved sustainability of projects and practices.
To be considered for the 2017 awards, a project or solution must have been implemented between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017.
Any full- or part-time employee or a group of employees may nominate a project for an award. Management level staff, including division managers, City Council members, and Budget and Evaluation Department staff are not eligible to receive the awards.

To nominate a project, download this submission form and fill it out. E-mail the completed form to email@example.com or deliver it to 300 W. Washington St., Suite 220.
The deadline for nominations is September 1. Winners will be announced in early December.
