This is accomplished through the work of two commissions - Human Relations Commission and Commission on the Status of Women, the Fair Housing Division, and programs such as Landlord-Tenant Dispute. Read our vision and mission statements below.

Mission Statement

The Human Relations Department promotes mutual understanding and fair treatment among all residents of Greensboro in conjunction with the Human Relations Commission and the Commission on the Status of Women. Through mediation, the Department seeks the voluntary resolution of discrimination complaints or unfair treatment in employment, housing and public accommodations because of an individual's race, color, gender, religion, national origin, familial status, or disability.
