National Institute on Aging
This website offers aging research, training and disseminating health information and various programs gearing to seniors. Read more about grants. 

Nursing Home Directory
This is a free online guide for finding nursing homes and assisted-living facilities in NC.  It lists addresses, telephone numbers, administrators, licenses' numbers, providers' numbers, and also indicate the maximum number of beds for which the facility is licensed.

Social Security Administration 
Apply for Social Security benefits, request a replacement Medicare Card, and learn how to replace, correct or change your name on your social security card, tax and wage indexed charges, and more. You can also download various Social Security Administration forms from this site.

US Administration on Aging
This US Department of Health and Human Services agency offers one of the largest sites to educate older people and their caregivers about the benefits and services available to help them. Click on the "Elders and Families" tab. You can also find the original text of the Older American Act.

Nursing Home Comparison
This website not only offers you information about Medicare, but also provides information on comparing hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, etc. It has versions in Spanish and Chinese. Click on the green Resource Locator box to see the pull down bar, which lists the different choices you may be interested in.

North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services
This site "works to promote independence and enhance the dignity of North Carolina's older adults, persons with disabilities, and their families through a community-based system of opportunities, services, benefits, and protections."
