GDOT Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Changes to Cotswold Terrace and Old Battleground Road
The Greensboro Department of Transportation (GDOT) invites residents to a workshop to discuss changes to Cotswold Terrace and Old Battleground from 4-8 pm, Thursday, December 7, at Lewis Recreation Center, 3110 Forest Lawn Dr. This is a drop in session, so residents may attend at any time during the four-hour workshop time.
The City of Greensboro is currently evaluating issues related to the recent closure of sections of Old Battleground Avenue, Cotswold Terrace and Cotswold Avenue, and the relocation of Cotswold Avenue to Lake Brandt Road due to the NC Department of Transportation’s Greensboro Urban Loop project.
The City wants to hear from residents who are affected by these changes as it reviews options:
• future road connections,
• permanent road closures including at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park,
• changes to Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) Bus Route 8,
• and other steps that can be taken to address area and neighborhood traffic concerns.
The workshop will give residents an opportunity to review maps and construction concepts and speak directly with representatives from GDOT, GTA, Greensboro Fire Department, Greensboro Police Department, the National Park Service and the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Information and surveys from the workshop will be available online from December 8 to January 5, 2018 at www.greensboro-nc.gov/GDOT. Residents may send written comments by mail to Greensboro Department of Transportation, Re: Cotswold & Old Battleground, PO Box 3136, Greensboro, NC, 27402-3136.
