Important Notice ***
The City of Greensboro has enacted changes to its plan review
and permit process aimed at providing you with enhanced customer service in the future. With these
changes comes the formation of a new office, Development Services, that will offer you access to
representatives from nearly every department involved in the planning review and permitting process in
one centralized location. We think you will find this all-in-one service a more efficient way of doing
business with us and we believe this will aid you in further developing your business within the City.
As part of this transition, the City’s inspections division
will be moving to the Upper Ground level, room No. 10, of the Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300
West Washington St., on Wednesday, December 8. All business with the inspection division will be
conducted at the new location starting this date. Permits will continue to be taken at the current
location, at 1001 Fourth St., until Tuesday afternoon, December 7.
We do not anticipate any delay in the acceptance of permit
applications or the review of plans during the move and we appreciate your patience as we all adjust to
this exciting new service. Remember you can also schedule inspections by calling 336-373-2400 or
on-line at:

As always, please
let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and feel free to offer advice on ways we can improve
our service to you.
