East Market Street Lane Closure and Truck Detour

GREENSBORO, NC – (December 14, 2007) – The City of Greensboro Department of Transportation announces a temporary lane closing for East Market Street beginning Monday, December 17 at 9 am. The eastbound left lane will be closed from Church Street to Murrow Boulevard for crews to perform storm sewer repairs. The project and associated lane closing is expected to end on Tuesday, December 18 at 4 pm.

Because of the low clearance of the nearby railroad overpass, any trucks, buses and vehicles that exceed 10 feet 4 inches in height will need to follow the detour route north on Church Street, west on Lindsay Street, north on Elm Street, east on Smith Street to Murrow Boulevard and back to East Market Street.

Motorists are asked to use caution when driving in the area and obey posted signs.
