Walker Avenue Road Closing

Beginning on Friday, September 5, Walker Avenue between S. Aycock and Warren streets will be closed to all but local traffic due to the construction of an underground storm sewer. Work will continue from 9 am to 4 pm daily through Friday, September 12.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and follow signed detours. The westbound detour route will direct motorists to follow Aycock Street south to Spring Garden, west to Warren Street and back to Walker Aveune. The eastbound detour follows in the reverse direction.
