City Reverts to Stage I Conservation Alert - Water Restrictions Lifted

City Manager Ed Kitchen announced today (Wednesday) that, effective at 10 am, the City ended the Stage II Water Shortage Warning and reverted to Stage I Conservation Alert. Stage I lifts all water restrictions and calls for voluntary water conservation measures from both citizens and businesses. Greensboro City Council instructed Kitchen to lift the Stage II water restrictions at last night's City Council meeting based on recent rainfalls that have helped to fill the city's reservoirs.

Both City Council and Kitchen urged the community to continue using water wisely. Kitchen noted that, "Although we no longer have mandatory water restrictions, our water resources are much too precious to waste. I want to encourage the use of water conservation measures as a way of life. By using water efficiently, we can help to ensure that there will be water in our reservoirs for the future."
