City of Greensboro Hosts Forum on 'Energy Efficient Facilities for the Next Millenium'
The City of Greensboro Project & Energy Management Division is hosting a forum on "Energy Efficient Facilities for the Next Millenium" tomorrow (Tuesday), February 23 at the Central Library, Nussbaum Room from 2 to 4 pm. The forum will provide current information on building trends and issues, including integrated building design, renewable energies and sustainability. The public is invited to attend and there is no cost for this event.
Featured speakers include: Kirk Bond, Senior Energy Engineer with Aspen Systems Corporation, which serves as a primary contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy's Rebuild America program, which works to promote energy efficient building practices; Larry Shirley, Executive Director of the North Carolina Solar Center, a statewide clearinghouse working to provide training, information, technical assistance and applied research aimed at advancing the use of solar energy; and Greensboro's Technology and Facilities Director, Mitchell Johnson.
Keynote speaker is James Wolf, Vice President for Government Affairs for the American Standard Companies. Wolf has served as President of the Washington Industrial and Appliance Round Tables, Chairman of the Alliance for Responsible Atmospheric Policy and Chairman of the Climate Task Force of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy. He is the incoming President of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and currently serves as the Society's Treasurer, Chairman of the Finance Committee, and Vice-Chairman of the Regions Council and the President-Elect Advisory Committee.
