Larry Davis Promoted to City Budget & Evaluation Director
City Manager Ed Kitchen announced today the promotion of Larry Davis to the position of Budget & Evaluation Director. Davis has served as Interim Director since March 1999. He joined the City in 1988 as a Budget Analyst.
Davis received his BS in Business Administration in 1985 and his Master of Public Administration in 1987. Both degrees were earned at UNC-Chapel Hill.
In 1998, Davis received the Certified Local Government Finance Officer recognition from the Institute of Government, Chapel Hill. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), and serves on the Board of the Hayes-Taylor YMCA.
In announcing his selection, Kitchen pointed out that Davis has done an excellent job of serving as Interim Director over the past few months. "Larry did a fine job leading the most recent budget preparation process as Interim Director and demonstrated his ability to get this job done well. He knows our system, has strong educational and experience qualifications for the role, and has the plus of a solid accounting background. I expect him to do an excellent job in this important management position."
Davis' salary will be $62,820.
